Cloud Cost & FinOps Diagnostic

A fixed 2–3 week engagement for growth-stage and enterprise technology teams. I find where your cloud spend actually leaks, quantify it, and hand back a FinOps operating plan your team can run — not a 60-page deck nobody opens. Low-risk by design: defined scope, a fixed fee, and a concrete plan at the end. Savings are quantified as estimated ranges, never a guaranteed percentage.

What you walk away with
A map of where spend leaks

Every material source of waste, ranked by size and by how hard it is to fix — each with an estimated savings range, never a guaranteed percentage.

Unit economics you can defend

Cost per customer, per environment, per workload, and per AI call — the numbers most teams have never actually seen in one place.

The architectural changes worth making

Where the workload design, data model, or service choices are generating the bill — and what to change so the savings come from how the system runs.

A 90-day operating plan

Named owners for every cost number, the reporting that makes them visible, and the decision cadence that keeps them governed after the engagement ends.

How it runs
Week 1 · Access and mapping

Read-only access to billing and architecture, plus short working sessions with the people who run the systems. No long discovery phase.

Week 2 · Quantify and model

Leaks get sized into ranges, unit economics get built, and the architectural drivers behind the bill get separated from the surface-level waste.

Week 3 · Plan and handover

You get the findings, the quick wins your team can action immediately, and the 90-day plan with owners — walked through live, not emailed as a deck.

What it costs

$12,000–$20,000, fixed. Scope and fee are agreed before anything starts — no hourly billing, no open-ended discovery, no change orders. The range depends on the size of the estate and the number of accounts and environments in play.

You own the plan whether or not we work together afterward. Most teams move into a fractional retainer to have it run; that's a separate decision made after you've seen the findings.

What you need to bring

Read-only access to billing and architecture, a few hours of engineering time, and leadership aligned that this matters. Those three are non-negotiable — engagements fail when the plan is right and the access or the buy-in never arrives.

If your spend is already reasonable

I'll tell you, and we'll stop. A diagnostic that concludes “this is well run, here are three small things” is a legitimate outcome and a cheap answer to a question that was worth asking. I'd rather deliver that than manufacture a project.
